Things are slowly moving on the spa front!

Following the meeting of the Presidents on 26th March 2017, it appears that no-one can find the keys to the Spa, so the locks are to be changed with only key people having access. It was also noted during the meeting that several people had been seen going into the spa without authority (hence another reason for changing the locks).
The Presidents have decided it is in everyones best interests to bring in a more knowledgeable third party, who are well versed in Spa management, to look at the cost of bringing the Spa and the Gym up to a good working level and also assessing the future ongoing costs prior to opening. Once they have all of the information to hand, the Presidents then need time to assess the report and plan to meet up again to discuss the best course of action. This includes decisions such as, for example, getting advice on any new equipment purchases etc...
I have also received an email from Ulf Hirvonen, an owner in D Block - who was speaking with José Miguel. Ulf has gleaned from his discussion that potentially the operation of the spa could be as high as 36.000 euros (although José Miguel also has a lower estimate).
There is still also the hurdle to overcome whereby the Catastral (registration of the spa) shows the Spa area belonging only to Block J residents (apparently this happened as the construction company registered it incorrectly) so this issue still needs to be amended and costs shared amongst the whole urbanisation.
Summing up, I think it's highly sensible to call in a third party to help assess what's needed and to qualify the next steps. If any of you have visited the Spa in Playa Calida (large red Hotel in Salobrena) you'll know that they place oranges or lemons in the water of their smaller pool - very nice and makes it feel quite luxurious (hint!). I would also (just for the record) recommend the Presidents talk to a number of locally based Spa's to find out some of the running issues so we can learn from their experiences, prior to setting up the rule book.
