Spa and Gym Facilities

Steve Campen in G Block kindly sent me a report + photos on the spa and gym facilities as follows:

Community President Mario invited us to take a look around the Spa and Gym on Friday, when about 30 Spanish and English were shown around.  We were all impressed that the facility had been kept well despite the eight years that have passed since the Spa was built.  There will be a meeting in December that will discuss the opening of the Spa.  Of course it is not just a matter of opening the door and letting everyone in.  The facility will need to be staffed, rather like the main community pool is looked after by the Lifeguards (Socorista's) the indoor pool will need to be maintained and staffed everyday and pool and cleaning chemicals bought, we don't want our Spa pool turning green!

The Gym and Spa here at Las Terrazas consists of a small gym, equipped with machines including two treadmills, exercise bike and multi-function resistance machines.  The Spa has changing rooms that lead onto to the main Spa area that has a floor that is decked, to the left are two Saunas a shower, two heated ceramic seats, then two hydro baths, that lead you toward the indoor pool that has Swan Neck Jets and Hydro Jets. Also upstairs beside the gym is a locker area that could be turned into a reception and a room to the right that could be used for fitness classes or turned into a treatment room.  The whole complex is painted a dark terracotta brown and has subdued lighting in the Spa area. Some walls have cream/grey travertine tiling. There are two exits, the first leads you back to the gym and the second is a fire exit.  There is also lift access to the Spa for easy accessibility..

Thanks Steve :-)
