The decision by the Block Presidents to close the swimming pool during the siesta hours of 3pm-5pm each day has now been overturned as of 8th August 2016.
In short, Janet and John (H Block) requested a meeting with the main President to ask that the recent decision to close the pool be overturned. They collected 42 petitions to support their request (not just English owners but Spanish owners too). This pushed the Presidents to meet due to the amount of discord over this point - and after some discussions they finally agreed to keeping it open - which is great news for everyone. The final count saw 6 Presidents voting 'for' and 4 'against'.
Obviously the job of the Presidents is a difficult one and they need to support everyone on our urbanisation - so while the pool will remain open, people must show respect for their fellow neighbours and be quiet during these times.
NEW SIESTA RULES So...no noisy dive bombing, shouting, laughing loudly or generally having fun. This quiet time allows people to swim quietly for fitness or sleep, read, and even relax in the garden without the usual noise volumes. It's a win:win for everyone. It's the job of the pool attendant to ensure people stick to these rules. The pool will only continue to remain open during these hours provided that everyone adheres to the new 'quiet' rules. Please could you ensure everyone knows this e.g. friends/family/tenants/guests.
FINES TO BE LEVIED IF YOU AREN'T QUIET! The Presidents will also be introducing fines of 50 euros for those people who don't adhere to the request - up to a maximum of150 euros.
G BLOCK
The main community rules do not apply to G Block. The president of G Block wishes the pool to remain closed during the siesta time - so it is now the case of the residents of G Block getting together and insisting collectively that their president adopts the same policy as the main pool and keeps it open between 3pm-5pm.
GENERAL POOL RULES Always bring your pool pass when visiting the pool. The attendant/life guard will check that you have it. Shower before getting in. Don't bring glass into the pool area for drinks. No large floats or balls are allowed - although "churros" are accepted (long thin spaghetti type floats).
